From Thursday 25 to Sunday 28. Four intense days in the pedestrian center of Diano Marina will host stands, cooking shows, street food, themed menus in restaurants. The DOP products of the territory are the protagonists thanks to the “Assaggia la Liguria” kermesse.From 25 to 28 April, in the elegant pedestrian center of Diano Marina, themed shows, workshops also for children, information points and tastings.
“Taste the Liguria”, the official event of the DOP products of the territory (Consorzi di Tutela del Basilico Genovese DOP and Olio DOP Riviera Ligure, together with the Enoteca Regionale), will participate with theme shows, a series of laboratories, also for children, and an infopoint with tastings led by experts, all made in the Pavilion set up in Piazza Martiri della Libertà. From the myth of preparing pesto to mortar with DOP Basilico Genovese to the discovery and guided tasting of DOP Riviera Ligure Oil and DOP Ligurian wines, the Assaggia Liguria area will offer a journey into certified excellence, illustrating the best combinations and uses in the kitchen.The elegant pedestrian center of Diano Marina, stage of the great event of the perfumes and flavors of the Ligurian Riviera.
Strait between Albenga (queen of potted aromatic herbs, violet artichokes, trumpet courgettes and beef heart tomato) and Imperia (olive oil trade capital), the Gulf of Diano (Diano Marina, San Bartolomeo al Mare, Cervo , Villa Faraldi, Diano San Pietro, Diano Arentino, Diano Castello) is a large production area for both centers, which – thanks also to the large number of tourists – wants to establish itself more and more as a place of transformation and consumption.
Cesare Grandi, Marcello Trentini, Tano Simonato, Giuliano Sperandio are just some of the Chefs who will take turns at Aromatica in the proposal of dinners, show cooking, workshops, presentations and meetings with the public. Among the novelties there is also an evening dedicated to “Gourmet” pizza, paired with aromatic and typical products of the Ligurian Riviera, with a renowned local from the Piedmont region as a guest.
Over 50 stands of producers and traders of typical products of our territory and in particular those related to aromatic herbs, the area of street food is crowded and qualified. There will be conferences, book presentations and a relevant cultural moment with experts on the topic “The excellence of a territory that is the driving force of slow tourism”, to celebrate the slow travel year also in the western part of Liguria.
A special space will be dedicated to the promotion of the Liguria Region. The program also includes workshops and tasting sessions, such as “Assaggia la Liguria Show”, organized in collaboration with the regional consortia of protection and the regional Enoteca. The selection stage of the Pesto World Mortar Championship is eagerly awaited. In the jury also Emiliano Pescarolo, world champion in charge of mortar pesto.
