On 15 and 16 June tastings, food and wine, trekking, cooking classes, cultural itineraries in the area of the Riviera Ligure DOP oil.

Participants will be able, on 15 and 16 June 2019, to choose to enter olive groves, in the oil mills of the Riviera Ligure DOP oil production companies throughout Liguria, to participate in courses and discover places of art little ‘beaten’ by tourism, immersed in breathtaking landscapes, with many opportunities to taste the flavors of true Ligurian cuisine.
It will be the olive groves and oil mills of 32 companies producing Riviera Ligure DOP oil, spread from Ponente to Levante, the real protagonists of the first edition of “Oliveti Aperti”, the national initiative launched by the DOP Riviera Ligure Oil Protection Consortium , with the collaboration of the Qualivita Foundation and the support of the Liguria Region to involve citizens and tourists within the tradition of Ligurian heroic olive growing.
A world with a centuries-old history, that of olive growing in Liguria, which today launches a new story thanks to the approximately 600 operators belonging to the Consortium for the Protection of the PDO Riviera Ligure Oil and to their 740,762 olive trees scattered over an olive grove of 2570 hectares . It does so through an original cultural experience that will allow tourists to discover the landscapes of the Riviera and the villages of the hinterland by choosing from a large program of events offered by the producers: tastings, food and wine, trekking, cooking classes and cultural itineraries passing through the concert under the olive trees and the laboratories on the art of dry stone walls, UNESCO World Heritage Site from 2018. In Recco a combination of Ligurian excellences will be proposed with the Focaccia di Recco with IGP cheese “seasoned” with DOP Riviera Ligure Oil thanks to the collaboration between the two Consortia.
The PDO oil – as a symbol of quality and collective culture – guides guests to combine the exclusive experience of the Riviera with the discovery of the splendid villages of the hinterland and their riches.
On the occasion of “Oliveti Aperti”, in the evening event of June 15 in Imperia, the students who participated in the Contest “Young Chefs and Olive Oil DOP Riviera Ligure” launched during the training workshops on the DOP Riviera Ligure Oil held by the Consortium will be awarded. in the Hotel Institutes of northern Italy which involved 2,500 students and engaged over 30,000 social users.
Finally, Patrizio Roversi will talk about this first edition together with a selection of sector journalists immersed for two days in “Oliveti Aperti Experience”, a tour dedicated to the discovery of olive groves and oil mills, but also of the main cultural elements of the area of production of the Riviera Ligure DOP Oil.
